Lakewood Bellhousing Kit - Chevrolet Small Block and Big Block Engines
The Lakewood cast aluminum bellhousings connect Chevy small and big block engines to transmissions utilizing the standard GM pattern such as the Muncie, Saginaw, Borg Warner T10, and Tremec TKX or TKO transmissions. The bellhousings can be used on both GM cars and trucks and other manufacturers where swap applications are being installed. These kits come complete with a clutch fork boot, inspection cover, and Grade 8 mounting hardware that connects the bellhousing to both the engine and transmission.
The bellhousing (#LK4000), clutch fork boot (#50351), inspection cover (#50350), and mounting hardware kit (#50368) are also available individually and can be found below under Service Parts.

OEM starters are recommended for ease of fitment. It is very important that the tooth count (153 or 168) of the starter match the tooth count of the flywheel to ensure proper engagement. Two primary options: a 12 3/4-inch flywheel (153 teeth) where the nose cone will have two attachment bolt holes across from each other (inline) and a 14-inch flywheel (168 teeth) where the attachment bolt holes will be offset (diagonal). This applies mainly to factory GM starters on passenger cars/light trucks and does not apply to later model versions (w/ gear reduction) or aftermarket and mini starters. Be sure to match your clutch to your flywheel as well.
