Engine Covers & Dress Up
Engine Covers & Dress Up — Valve Covers, Timing Covers & Breathers
The visible surfaces of your engine tell the story of the build. Clean, purposeful engine dress components signal that attention to detail extends throughout — that the same standard of work that went into the rotating assembly and cylinder heads is reflected in what you can see when you open the bonnet. Beyond aesthetics, quality valve covers, timing covers, and breather systems perform important functional roles in maintaining a clean, leak-free, properly ventilated engine.
With 157 products from names including Holley, Mr. Gasket, and Holley Sniper EFI, our dress-up range covers both functional upgrades and visual enhancement for the most popular American V8 engine families.
Valve Covers — Functional and Visual
Valve cover selection balances practical requirements with visual preference. On an LS-series engine, the factory plastic valve covers are functional but visually unremarkable — aftermarket billet aluminium valve covers in natural, polished, or powdercoated finishes immediately transform the engine bay appearance while providing the same sealing function as the originals, often with improved gasket retention and oil return characteristics. For traditional Small Block and Big Block Chevrolet applications, tall valve covers accommodate roller rockers and improved oiling arrangements that may not clear the factory pressed steel covers.
Our valve cover range includes cast aluminium and billet options for LS and traditional SBC/BBC applications, with multiple finish options to complement different build aesthetics from raw muscle to polished show quality.
Timing Covers — Protection and Presentation
The timing cover protects the cam drive components from contamination and retains the front oil seal — making it a functional component as much as a cosmetic one. On engines where the timing cover is visible, an upgraded billet or quality cast aluminium cover adds a professional finish to the front of the engine. Our timing cover range includes seals, seal strips, and bolt sets to complete the installation correctly.
Crankcase Breathers — Ventilation Done Right
Proper crankcase ventilation is essential for any performance engine. Combustion blow-by gases that accumulate in the crankcase must be evacuated — either through a positive crankcase ventilation system returning them to the intake, or through open breathers on a dedicated race engine. Inadequate ventilation leads to pressure buildup, accelerated oil contamination, and seal failures. Our breather range includes OEM-style replacement caps and hoses for street applications, and performance breather solutions for modified engines that generate increased blow-by at elevated power levels.
