Springs — Coil & Leaf
Coil Springs, Lowering Springs & Leaf Springs
The suspension spring is the energy storage component of the suspension system — compressing to absorb road surface irregularities and extending to maintain tyre contact as the wheel drops into depressions. Spring rate, spring length, and installation height collectively determine ride height, handling balance, and the frequency at which the suspension responds to inputs. Getting spring selection right for your application is one of the foundations of good suspension setup — changes to spring rate affect everything else in the suspension system and must be matched to the damper specification for correct overall behaviour.
Our spring range from Brothers Trucks, REKUDO, and ADS covers replacement springs for classic truck applications alongside performance lowering springs and leaf spring components for vehicles where the original equipment has fatigued or where a change in ride height or spring rate is planned.
Lowering Springs — Stance and Handling
Lowering springs reduce ride height below factory specification, lowering the vehicle's centre of gravity and improving handling by reducing body roll in corners. A correctly specified lowering spring — matched to the vehicle's weight, the damper specification, and the intended ride height — produces meaningful handling improvements alongside the improved visual stance that's a priority in any resto-mod or performance build. Incorrect lowering spring selection can produce handling that's worse than the factory setup, particularly when combined with worn or mismatched shock absorbers.
Replacement Coil Springs for Classic Applications
Factory coil springs on vintage American trucks and muscle cars settle and fatigue over decades of use, resulting in a ride height that sags below the factory specification and spring rates that no longer provide the designed suspension behaviour. Fresh replacement springs restore correct ride height, improve suspension travel and response, and provide a foundation for further handling improvements through aligned shock absorber and alignment upgrades.
Leaf Springs and Leaf Spring Hardware
Leaf spring applications — predominantly rear suspension on classic trucks and solid-axle vehicles — are served by our leaf spring shackle and block range. Spring shackles connect the rear of the leaf spring to the chassis, and worn or collapsed shackles allow the rear suspension to shift laterally and produce the vague, imprecise handling that characterises tired rear suspension on classic trucks. Replacement shackles and spring hardware restore correct geometry and provide improved durability over original components.
