Fuel Injectors & Rails
Fuel Injectors & Fuel Rails — Flow-Matched Performance Injection
The fuel injector is the precision metering device that delivers exactly the right quantity of fuel into each cylinder at exactly the right moment. Injector selection has a direct impact on fuel delivery accuracy, idle quality, throttle response, and the maximum power level the fuel system can support. Too small and the injectors hit maximum duty cycle before you reach peak power, limiting output and causing lean conditions. Too large and idle quality suffers as the injectors operate at very low pulse widths where precise metering is most difficult.
With 173 injector and fuel rail products from leading specialists including Fuel Injector Clinic, Deatschwerks, Fuel Injector Development, and Holley EFI, our fuel injection range covers everything from stock replacement injectors for mild builds to high-flow units capable of supporting serious power levels on ethanol and other high-demand fuels.
Injector Sizing — Matching Flow Rate to Power Level
Injector flow rate is typically expressed in pounds per hour at a given fuel pressure. Selecting the correct flow rate requires knowing your target power level, the fuel you're running, the number of cylinders, and the maximum duty cycle you'll operate at. As a general guide, naturally aspirated petrol-fuelled engines require approximately 0.5 lb/hr per horsepower on 8 cylinders; ethanol fuels require significantly more flow due to lower energy density. Our team can assist with injector sizing calculations for your specific application.
Flow-Matched Injector Sets
Quality performance injector sets are flow-matched — meaning every injector in the set is tested and confirmed to flow within a tight tolerance of one another. Injector-to-injector variation produces cylinder-to-cylinder fuel delivery differences that the ECU compensates for at one operating point but not across the full load and RPM range. A flow-matched set ensures consistent fuel delivery across all eight cylinders, producing more consistent power output and cleaner exhaust emissions than unmatched or worn factory injectors.
Fuel Rails — Flow Capacity and Presentation
The fuel rail feeds all injectors from a common supply and maintains consistent fuel pressure at the injector inlet regardless of engine load and fuel demand. Quality aftermarket fuel rails offer greater internal volume than factory units — important on high-horsepower applications where fuel flow demand is high — and in many cases are available in billet aluminium with multiple finish options that complement a dressed engine bay. Fuel rail kits include all fittings and mounting hardware for a complete installation.
Injector Seals, O-Rings, and Connectors
Injector seals and O-rings are consumable items that should be replaced whenever injectors are removed from the engine. A failed injector O-ring causes fuel leaks that are both a fire risk and a source of lean running conditions. Our range of injector service items ensures you have the correct replacement parts for both standard and non-standard injector sizes.
