Fuel Filters & Pressure Regulators — Clean Fuel, Correct Pressure
Two of the most fundamental requirements of any fuel system are clean fuel and consistent fuel pressure. Fuel contamination — rust particles, varnish deposits, and debris from degraded fuel hose — causes injector wear, sticking float needles in carburettors, and in serious cases complete injector or carburettor failure. Incorrect fuel pressure produces incorrect fuel delivery: too low and the engine runs lean, too high and it runs rich — in both cases, performance and reliability suffer. Getting filtration and pressure regulation right is basic fuel system housekeeping that pays dividends in long-term engine health.
With 185 filtration and regulation products from Holley, Earl's, Aeromotive, and Magnafuel, our range covers fuel filtration and pressure regulation solutions for carburetted and EFI applications across the power spectrum.
Inline Fuel Filters — First Defence Against Contamination
Every fuel system should incorporate at least one inline fuel filter between the fuel tank and the fuel delivery system — carburettor, injectors, or fuel pressure regulator. Filter micron rating determines the particle size that's excluded: finer filtration protects sensitive injectors and precision-machined carburettor components, but requires more frequent service as the filter loads up with captured debris. A staged filtration approach — a coarser filter protecting the pump from debris, and a finer filter downstream protecting injectors — provides comprehensive protection while maintaining practical service intervals.
Fuel Pressure Regulators — Carburetted and EFI
Carburetted fuel systems typically operate at 4–7 PSI — low enough that many mechanical pumps naturally deliver correct pressure, but requiring a regulator when a high-flow electric pump is used to prevent fuel bowl flooding and associated rich running. EFI systems typically operate at 40–60 PSI, with return-style systems requiring a regulator referenced to manifold pressure to maintain consistent differential pressure across the injectors regardless of load conditions.
Adjustable fuel pressure regulators allow fine-tuning of base fuel pressure — a powerful tool for optimising fuel delivery when the combination of injectors, pump, and tune requires adjustment of the fuel delivery baseline. Our adjustable regulator range covers both carburetted and EFI applications with appropriate pressure ranges and fittings.
Fuel Shut-Off Valves
Manual fuel shut-off valves provide a positive means of isolating the fuel supply — useful as a safety measure on race vehicles and in any installation where the ability to cut fuel supply quickly is desirable. These are simple, reliable components that add a meaningful safety layer to any performance fuel system.
