21st Century 454 with Modern LSX Technology

The LSX454 continues the legendary 454 tradition with modern LSX technology, producing 627 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 586 lb-ft of torque at 5,100 rpm. This engine combines classic displacement with contemporary engineering.

Engine Construction:

• LSX cast-iron block with 6-bolt, cross-bolted main caps
• 4340 forged steel crankshaft with 8-bolt flange
• 4340 forged steel connecting rods
• Forged aluminum pistons
• All-forged, super tough rotating assembly

Cylinder Head Technology:

• Aluminum LSX-LS7 port cylinder heads with 70cc chambers
• 2.200 titanium intake valves / 1.610 hollow, sodium-filled exhaust valves
• Based on race-derived LS7 heads from Corvette Z06

Camshaft Specifications:

• Hydraulic roller camshaft
• Valve lift: 0.648 intake / 0.648 exhaust
• Duration (@0.050): 236° intake / 246° exhaust

Special Features:

• Orange powder-coated valve covers with "LSX 454" logos engraved in black
• Lighter and more compact than traditional big blocks
• Takes up no additional space compared to factory LS engine

Installation Notes:

• Long block configuration - intake manifold not included
• Use LSX-LS7 single plane carbureted intake manifold (P/N 19244033)
• Valve covers do not include ignition coil mounting provisions
• Due to high compression ratio, not compatible with forced induction
• Oil pan and oil pump pickup not included
• 8-bolt crankshaft flange may require adapter for some transmissions
