Key Features

Overview

This precision throttle position sensor delivers accurate throttle angle feedback for counter-clockwise rotating throttle bodies with 8mm D-shaft mounting. Essential for proper fuel mapping and ignition timing across the entire throttle range, particularly critical in high-performance EFI conversions and aftermarket throttle body installations.

Technical Specifications

  • Part Number: HT-010404
  • Rotation: Counter-clockwise
  • Shaft Type: 8mm D-shaft
  • Sensor Type: Mechanical potentiometer
  • Output: Variable voltage 0-5V
  • Operating Temperature: -40°C to +125°C

Why You Need This

Throttle position feedback is absolutely critical for modern EFI systems — without accurate TPS data, your ECU cannot properly calculate load-based fuel delivery or manage ignition advance maps. Many budget TPS sensors fail under heat or vibration, causing erratic idle, poor throttle response, and dangerous lean conditions under load. This becomes particularly problematic in turbo builds where precise fuel delivery is essential for engine safety.

Counter-clockwise rotation is required for specific throttle body configurations, particularly common in certain ITB setups, aftermarket throttle bodies, and some OEM applications. Using the wrong rotation direction will give inverted throttle readings, causing the ECU to interpret wide-open throttle as idle and vice versa. We see this mistake regularly in LS swap projects and RB engine conversions where builders assume all TPS sensors rotate the same direction. The 8mm D-shaft fitment suits many popular aftermarket throttle bodies including certain Jenvey, ITG, and OEM Honda applications.

ECU & System Compatibility

Compatible with the full Haltech Elite and Nexus range including Elite 550, 750, 1000, 1500, 2000, and 2500 models, plus Nexus R3 and R5 systems. The sensor connects directly to dedicated TPS inputs and requires ECU calibration to match your specific throttle body's opening range. Our technical team can guide you through the setup process and provide base calibration values for common applications.

What's in the Box

  • 1 x Throttle Position Sensor (counter-clockwise, 8mm D-shaft)
  • 1 x Opposing connector with terminals
  • 3 x Connector pins

Complete Your Build

Most customers fitting aftermarket throttle position sensors also require proper wiring solutions and sensor extension harnesses for clean installations. Contact our technical team for application-specific recommendations — we maintain UK stock of compatible connectors, extension looms, and calibration tools. Our in-house tuners have extensive experience with TPS calibration across various platforms and can provide pre-sales guidance to ensure you select the correct rotation and shaft size for your specific throttle body configuration.
