Intake Manifolds

Intake Manifolds — Single Plane, Dual Plane, EFI & Ram Air

The intake manifold is the lungs of your engine — the structure that delivers the air-fuel charge from the carburettor or throttle body to the cylinder heads. Manifold design has a profound effect on where in the RPM range the engine makes its power: a correctly selected intake manifold can add 20, 30, or even 50 horsepower without touching anything else. Choose the wrong design for your application and you'll sacrifice either low-end torque or top-end power, depending on which direction you compromise.

With over 329 intake manifold products in our range from leading names including Holley, Holley EFI, Weiand, and Brian Tooley Racing, Billy's Speed Shop stocks the right manifold for carburetted street engines, EFI conversions, high-revving naturally aspirated builds, and forced induction combinations.

Dual Plane Manifolds — Street Torque and Drivability

For street-driven vehicles where broad torque delivery, good throttle response from low RPM, and smooth idle quality are priorities, a dual plane manifold is typically the correct choice. The divided plenum design of a dual plane keeps intake charges separated and produces strong cylinder filling across a wide RPM band — delivering the kind of torque that makes a street car or truck genuinely enjoyable to drive in real-world conditions rather than just impressive on a dyno sheet at peak RPM.

Single Plane Manifolds — Top-End Power for Performance Applications

Where peak power above 3,500 RPM is the priority and the engine will be used primarily at high RPM — on a track day car, a dedicated drag car, or an engine built for maximum output — a single plane manifold with its open plenum and short, equal-length runners allows the engine to breathe freely at the top of the rev range. The trade-off is reduced low-RPM torque, which makes a single plane a poor choice for street use but an excellent choice for track and strip applications where the engine spends its time at high RPM.

EFI Intake Manifolds for LS and LT Applications

The Holley Hi-Ram, Lo-Ram, and related EFI intake manifold range has transformed what's possible with LS-based builds. These purpose-designed EFI manifolds allow running individual throttle bodies, dual throttle body setups, or blower-hat configurations that simply weren't possible with factory intake architecture. Combined with the Holley EFI management system, these manifolds allow the modern builder to extract performance from the LS platform that rivals traditionally purpose-built race engines, while retaining street manners and driveability when required.

Intake Manifold Hardware and Installation Components

Manifold bolt sets, studs, and installation hardware ensure your intake manifold is secured correctly with the right fastener specification for your application. We stock manifold hardware in both OEM-style replacement and performance-specification stainless and hardened fasteners for builds where standard hardware isn't adequate. Intake manifold conversion kits facilitate the fitment of certain manifold designs to engines where the mounting arrangement differs from the original specification.
