Hooker BlackHeart has quickly become the leader in LS engine swaps and we are excited to offer this crossmember for 1968-1972 GM A-Body Convertible and El Camino vehicles with LS engines. The crossmember is specifically designed to fit the narrower, boxed frame rails of the A-body Convertible and El Camino models. It is compatible with our current 1968-1972 A-body LS swap engine mounting brackets (71221006HKR and 71221007HKR) to provide optimized engine fitment and U-joint operating angles.
1968-1972 GM A-Body Convertible/El Camino LS Swap Transmission Crossmember
- Specific geometry designed to fit the narrower, boxed frame rails of the A-body Convertible and El Camino models
- High strength-low alloy steel construction provides for a strong transmission mounting solution
- CAD designed to provide optimized installation, fitment, component clearances and exhaust system ground clearance
- Provides for direct installation of 4th-gen F-body T56, aftermarket T56 Magnum or 4L80/4L85 transmissions
- Provides for installation of 4L60/4L70, TH400 or 2004R transmissions through the use of available adapter kits
- Shares the same exhaust arch location as the stock 1968-1972 Chevelle crossmember for easy retrofitting
- Black semi-gloss powder coating provides a durable and attractive finish
- Compatible with 1968-1972 A-body LS swap engine mounting brackets P/N’s 71221006HKR and 71221007HKR to provide optimized engine fitment and U-joint operating angles
