Why You Need This
Getting lambda sensor placement right is critical for accurate AFR readings and proper closed-loop operation on any Haltech-tuned build. This bung provides the threaded mounting point you need in the optimal exhaust location — typically 18-24 inches downstream from the head on naturally aspirated engines, or post-turbo on forced induction setups. The 6061 aluminium construction offers excellent thermal properties whilst remaining easy to weld into mild steel or stainless exhaust systems.
We see too many builds where sensors are mounted in poor locations or using makeshift bungs that crack under thermal cycling. Whether you're doing an LS swap into a drift car, adding wideband monitoring to a tuned RB25, or converting a classic to EFI with a Haltech Elite, proper sensor mounting is non-negotiable. The standard M18x1.5 thread accepts Bosch LSU 4.2/4.9 sensors, NTK sensors, and connects directly to Haltech WB1/WB2 wideband controllers.
ECU & System Compatibility
Universal fitment for all lambda sensor applications. Works with Haltech Elite 550/750/1000/1500/2000/2500 ECUs, Nexus R3/R5 systems, and standalone wideband controllers including WB1 and WB2 units. Essential component for any build requiring accurate air-fuel ratio monitoring or closed-loop fuelling control.
What's in the Box
- 1x O2 sensor weld-on bung (6061 aluminium)
- M18 x 1.5mm thread for standard sensor fitment
Complete Your Build
Most customers fitting sensor bungs also need the actual lambda sensors and wideband controllers to complete their AFR monitoring setup. Popular combinations include Haltech WB1 or WB2 controllers with appropriate Bosch LSU sensors for standalone monitoring, or direct connection to Elite ECU lambda inputs for integrated closed-loop control. Contact our technical team for recommendations on sensor placement, controller selection, and complete wiring solutions — we hold comprehensive UK stock of all Haltech lambda monitoring components and can advise on the optimal setup for your specific build and tuning requirements.
